THE STARS AT NIGHT WILL SHINE DOWN ON THE HEART OF KENT MOONLIT WALK

08/06/2012

Wear your pyjamas, bring your teddies and join the Heart of Kent Hospice for the Moonlit Walk.

On Saturday September 22, participants will be walking in the moonlight around Maidstone along a six or 10-mile route to help raise vital funds for the hospice.

Now in its sixth year, organisers are hoping for a bumper turnout of around 1,000 walkers and if £55,000 is raised, the job will be a good one!

Walkers pay a £15 registration fee but are also asked to raise sponsorship before the event.

The walk starts at 10pm at the David Lloyd Centre in Kings Hill, taking walkers to Aylesford and back again.

It’s not a race, it’s just for fun but the aim is to boost funds for the hospice in Preston Hall, now celebrating its 21st year. And you’ll be in good company – 4,000 people have taken part in the event in previous years and raised a staggering £306,000

Both men and women are needed for the walk and people are encouraged to bring friends, family and even children who may like an unusual evening out whilst raising money. (Children must be accompanied by adults.)

Fancy dress in pyjamas is optional and as it’s a late night event, nightclothes may be a comfortable option.

Via the HOHK Facebook page, participants can upload their fund-raising updates, photos and anything else they wish to let people know about the event.

Registration is £15 and can be done via the dedicated website: www.moonlitwalk.org.

You can also call the hospice for details on 01622 790195 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
