Pillory Barn Creative

Erica Banes - Senior Designer / Studio Manager

Always calm under pressure, with four years in graphic design there isn’t much she’s not tolerant of. In love with every thing ‘Kent’, she dreams of complete creative freedom, and changes her favourite colour daily, in true Graphic designer style. A bit of a dark horse with a private pilot’s license under her belt she’s certainly a talent to keep your eye on!

Selena Goldsmith - Graphic Designer

Selena is a creative through-and-through. With a big smile for everyone, she tackles everything that comes her way with flair and vigour, and has boldly taken on the challenge of the print and artworking desk at Pillory Barn. For which we are eternally thankful!

She was previously an up-and-comer at WFCA, part of the Ekay Group and in Campaigns Top 30 agency table, working on the likes of Bathstore, Perfume Shop, Londis & Budgens.

Jo Hage - Account Manager

In her life before Pillory Barn Jo was the right-hand (wo)man to writer and broadcaster Stephanie Calman for many years, after a glittering career in Account Management at London PR agency Walker Williams. Her attention to detail may drive her family to distraction, but is a win-win as far as we’re concerned.

One of her proudest moments was hearing a headline from a press release she had written read out on ‘Have I Got News For You’; admittedly it was from British Baker Magazine, in the Guest Publication round, but it’s a start!  When she’s not in work she answers to the name of Rikki Tikki Tavi, within her Cub pack – the Tigers – where she volunteers, come rain or shine, as their Leader.  She can often be heard saying “I’m Rikki, hear me Roarrrr”.

Roger Hills - Creative Director / Founder

A big man with big ideas. At over six foot six, Roger has a presence, not only in his creative ability, but also because of his 25 years of experience in the advertising industry. In that time he has done it, seen it, won a few awards and finally got the t-shirt but still sees every single job as an exciting creative challenge.

Oliver Hood - New Media Designer

Oliver Hood brings a digital arm to the agency. A freelance digital designer before joining us, Oliver has worked on projects for clients such as production companies in Pinewood Studios and more locally Kent Police and KCC. Originally a Midlands lad, he attributes himself with a ‘seemingly limitless memory for trivia’ and gets frustrated by designers who use pretentious jargon. He admires Apple, due to their come back in the past ten years. The strangest client request that he’s had to deal with is a guy who asked him to design ‘calling cards’ to hand out to women who caught his eye!

Meg Huckstep - Marketing Executive

A lover of all things multi-tasking and creative, Meg joins us with a varied and well-travelled background that spans working in Dubai, New York, Thailand, London and Kent.

This is her 2nd time round at Pillory Barn after first joining in 2007 and she is pleased to be back at the Barn!

With an equally balanced commercial and creative view-point she offers our clients a fully-integrated service in the very best sense of the term, and has a keen interest in digital and social networking. The third dark-horse in the company, let’s just ask - a chat in Arabic anyone? Enough said.

Tom is a special edition to Pillory Barn, and brings with him an entirely new offering to the company. Obviously a master of self-control, he’s working for Pillory Barn whilst simultaneously continuing with his Msc at the prestigious University of Edinburgh.

A passionate digital illustrator, with experience working for a top London computer games company, his proudest moment was having his virtual London city-scapes, one part of a ‘serious game’, not only published but picked up in the likes of the Telegraph.
