HAT & HANDBAG APPEAL FOR ASCOT THEMED EVENT

The Heart of Kent Hospice are appealing for new or used Hats & Handbags in good condition for an auction being held at an Ascot Ladies Day themed Event at the Marriott Tudor Park Hotel & Country Club on Thursday 18th of June 2009.

If you currently own one or two glamorous hats and handbags just collecting dust at the back or your wardrobe and could be auctioned off to raise valuable funds for The Heart of Kent Hospice, then the Hospice would like you to get in touch.

The event will be held in the fabulous marquee and ladies are invited to follow the theme of glamour and stunning hats. You will be able to enjoy all the thrill of the races with our superb interactive horse racing game and you will even be able to have a bet with fun money to win prizes.

Tickets are just £45 per person and guests will be greeted with a champagne reception followed by a three course meal. The afternoon will also include a hat and handbag auction.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get a group of girlfriends together and dress up in your best frock and glamorous hat to enjoy a fun afternoon at ‘the races’, whilst raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.

Tables of 8 are available for group bookings. For more information and tickets or to donate your hats and handbags, please call the HOKH fundraising team on 01622 790 195 or email (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Notes to Editor

The Heart of Kent hospice is the local hospice caring for seriously ill people and their families from Maidstone, Aylesford and surrounding area. The Hospice is a specialist palliative care unit whose purpose is to provide expert care and support for patients with advanced cancer, motor neurone disease, or other life- threatening illnesses where curative treatment is no longer possible. At any one time the hospice is caring for 350 patients with beds available for up to 12 inpatients and 80-day therapy and many are cared for in the community.

Care and support is also given to families of the patients, and especially to their children. Hospice care is free, and this year £3 million is required to cover running costs, and with only 29% generated from local government we continue to be heavily dependant on the generosity of our local community.
