Hospice Host Wonderful Winter Ball

Posted on the 31st of July 2009

The Heart of Kent Hospice will be hosting its second Corporate Winter Ball at Leeds Castle on Friday 27th November 2009, which promises to be a very glamorous affair.

Last year’s ball was a huge success with corporate supporters and friends raising a fantastic amount of over £28,000, which helped towards patient care at the Hospice. This year the Gala Ball will be even bigger and with more glamour and will include a surprise element to make it unforgettable.

The ball will be held at The Fairfax Hall at Leeds castle, which dates from 1680 and is a spectacular venue for these types of extra special events. This immaculately restored Kentish Barn exudes warmth and charm and is a perfect way to start the Christmas season.

The ball provides businesses with an ideal opportunity to entertain their most valued customers and thank their staff for all of their hard work over this challenging year, or to host an early Christmas celebration with friends and family.

Tickets are just £85 each and includes a champagne reception, three course meal with wine and an auction to raise vital funds for the Hospice.

The Hospice are looking for even more auction prizes for the event so if anyone has any ideas, contacts or fantastic prizes/experiences on offer they would love to hear from you.

Notes to Editors
The Heart of Kent Hospice is a local hospice caring for seriously ill people and their families from Maidstone, Tonbridge and Malling. The Hospice is a specialist palliative care unit that provides expert care and support for patients with advanced cancer, motor neurone disease, or other life-limiting illnesses where a cure is no longer possible.

At any one time the Hospice is caring for 350 patients with beds available for up to 12 in-patients.  A further 60-day therapy placements are available with many more patients being cared for in the community.

Care and support is also given to families of the patients, and especially to their children.

Hospice care is free. It is a charity, and not a part of the National Health Service.

This year we need to generate £3 million in order to cover running costs, and with only 29% generated from statutory funding we continue to be heavily dependant on the generosity of our local community.
