Kent At Your Fingertips As Online Channel Goes Mobile

Posted on the 11th of May 2009

The innovative Internet TV Channel KentTV.com has extended its accessibility by going mobile at KentTV.mobi on May 5th.

The online community based channel responded to viewers’ demands by expanding their service onto all mobile phones.

Editor John McGhie said the move to mobile was keeping KentTV.Com at the forefront of the communications revolution.

“People want to access KentTV on the move and we are providing for this. We already have a significant following on Twitter via mobiles so this was the next logical step,” Mr McGhie said.

The homepage for KentTV.Mobi will include ‘Top Picks’ of up to the minute stories around the county, giving users a snapshot of the county.

A strong feature of the website will be the access to the ‘What’s On?’ channel, allowing attractions around the county to be reviewed whilst users are on the move and looking for inspiration on days out this summer. The channel has more than 200 of films of places to visit across Kent.

The service will also benefit commuters who can log in during travel periods to what is happening in Kent. Also a keyword search offers wider searching of the site for specific topics across thousands of available films.

There will be two different versions available to suit all mobile telephones, with the widest service available will be on the i-phone and a quicker download on the WAP version mobiles. The site will use Quicktime to allow easy viewing of the online footage.
