Full steam ahead for Kent tourism campaign
With no less than five heritage railways in the county, each distinctly different from the others, Visit Kent approached us with an exciting brief to promote Kent’s heritage railways for the summer season.
Stage one was to create a visual identify for the campaign, and our expert designers worked with Visit Kent, taking inspiration from locomotive plaques and boilerplates.
Using this new brand, we produced individual 2pp dl-sized leaflets for each railway, promoting their locations as well as upcoming summer events.
We also designed five posters to go in Southeastern railway stations, showing potential visitors how easy it is to access Kent’s heritage railway attractions.
We chose bold and striking images making the trains the heroes, and ensured everything looked its absolute best by using Photoshop to enhance steam, smoke, sky and other elements.
The final task was to produce a 12pp folded leaflet, pulling the campaign together and promoting all five heritage railways. This showcased the fabulous views, fantastic destinations and fascinating history to be found.
We included a fold-out illustrated map of the county, pinpointing the stations and highlighting key information.
All design was in keeping with the railway theme, incorporating metal textures and a dark grey, green and gold colour palette.
