Make Pillory Barn your next work home.

At Pillory Barn, we don’t just create designs, we become part of our clients’ journeys.

We’re looking for a Mid-weight/Senior Graphic Designer who’s bursting with ideas, comfortable owning projects end-to-end, and excited by the variety of working across sectors and channels.

This is more than your next role. It’s an opportunity to see the difference your design makes on brands, places and communities.

We’re a creative and digital communications agency rooted in Kent and delivering across the UK. Our clients span commercial, public sector and community-focused organisations, with a strong heritage in the built environment.

  • Lead design projects from brief and concept through to artwork and delivery across digital and print.
  • Create brand identities and campaign assets, plus design for websites, UI, social, motion, large format, signage and exhibition.
  • Collaborate with content, PR and digital teams to bring ideas to life and present work confidently to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Translate complex briefs into clear, effective visual solutions and spot creative opportunities in pitches.
  • Maintain meticulous file management, versioning and production-ready artwork across multi-channel outputs.
  • Contribute to storyboards for video and short-form motion.
  • 3–5+ years’ professional agency (or similar) experience with a strong, varied portfolio.
  • Expert Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with Figma/XD proficiency; Mac native.
  • Solid artworking for print (pre-press, colour management, large format) and for digital (responsive assets, accessibility awareness).
  • Understanding of web design principles and how developers build (grids, components, exports, handover).
  • Clear, confident client liaison skills; organised, calm under pressure, deadline-driven and proactive.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car for travel predominantly within the South East.
  • Nice-to-haves: Premiere Pro/After Effects, animation, illustration, photography/videography, and a flair for content.
  • Purpose-led work on meaningful projects across destinations, public sector, healthcare, inward investment and property.
  • A supportive, values-driven team that celebrates creativity and care.
  • Hybrid working with well-located offices in Canterbury and Maidstone.
  • Workplace pension, health cash plan and group income protection scheme.
  • Competitive holiday allowance plus your birthday off.
  • Ongoing training, career progression and chances to get involved in client workshops and events.
